Jon received his Masters of Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2014, receiving the Henry Adams award for Top Graduate of his class. During his undergraduate studies, Jon studied abroad for a summer travelling through Italy and into southern Switzerland. This experience gave Jon an interest in and a keen sense of urban scale and quality of construction.
Growing up Jon began doing construction at the very young age of 12. Over the years he was able to learn the skills of many trades: framing, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, and much more. He spent much of that time as the low man on the totem pole which allowed him to learn every aspect of the trade, from the bottom up.
Apart from working on construction crews, Jon’s first job in the trade was working for a Fire Sprinkler Design company, FIRECAD, in 2005 where Jon designed sprinkler systems for schools and commercial buildings. Throughout Jon’s undergraduate and master’s degrees, Jon completed over a dozen design-build projects for clients throughout East Texas and DFW. During Jon’s last semester of his graduate degree he began working for A.GRUPPO Architects preparing construction documents and managing construction sites.
